Tomorrow, March 25th, we have a special event at 9 a.m. Pacific Time. Professor Piotr Jaroszynski will be joining us from Poland as our guest for a roundtable discussion of Marxism. All Great Books students are welcome to attend .
Prof. Jaroszyński holds the Chair of the Philosophy of Culture and Art at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, Poland. He was a student of Karol Wotyla [Pope John Paul II], who also taught Ethics at the Catholic University of Lublin. He is an international lecturer and author. His philosophical, art, and metaphysical works have been translated into many languages.
One of the reasons that Marxism is an appropriate topic for Prof. Jaroszyński's visit is that he is familiar with Marxism not only in theory but also in actual experience, having lived under Marxism as Poland was a Soviet Union dependent state after World War II until 1989.
If you have questions regarding Marxism that you would like Prof. Jaroszyński to address during the roundtable please forward them to me [firstname.lastname@example.org] and we'll select some to present.
If you would like to do some reading on Marxism prior to the round table you will find The Communist Manifesto here - https://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1848/communist-manifesto/
